The Freestyles Chapter was originally released in 1999 as a rare cassette-only tape, capturing Brainpower's freestyle sessions, radio appearances and cypher recordings from 1995 to 1999, years before his 2001 debut album Door Merg & Brain. For its 25th anniversary, this raw document of the Dutch hip-hop underground was remastered and expanded as a joint release between Lyric Recordings, Dutch Gems Records and AppleDizzle Records, pressed on vinyl for the first time alongside a cassette edition true to the original tape's format.
