Maylay Sparks (Philadelphia), Clever 1 (Chicago) and K-Sluggah (Sweden) each spent over a decade sharing stages and mics with hip-hop legends before joining forces for Frozen Mugs, released through Hip-Hop Enterprise in 2021. All songs were written by Anthony R. Gray for Soundz Publishing (PRS) and Kymmar Cotton for TYTBeatz Productions (except where noted), produced by K Sluggah for Aromatic Music / Muddy Fatique, and mixed and mastered by Joe "The Butcher" Nicolo. The album leans on gritty, head-nodding production, classic-style cuts and scratches, and razor-sharp wordplay, pulling in heavyweight guests like Malik B of The Roots, DJ Too Tuff of Tuff Crew and Planet Asia along the way. It's a purist's record — three MCs from three different scenes, united by a shared love of raw, boom-bap fundamentals.
