JunClassic is a prolific Queens artist whose distinctive, guttural baritone delivers bars in a calm, measured temperament — the hardened perspective of a middle-aged Black man from New York trying to make sense of an increasingly chaotic world. Tell Me Something I Don't Know is produced entirely by Clypto (@clyptobeatz) and mixed and mastered by @casablanca92fs, weaving soul, R&B, gospel and jazz arrangements with curious vocal wails and church-like outbursts of soulful crooning. The sample-laden backdrop gives the record a cinematic quality, evoking New York nights and street-level realism throughout its nine tracks.
