Neidan is a Japan-based producer who built Kid in the backseat entirely in-house, handling every beat and mix himself while inviting a rotating cast of rappers — Jay Cinema, Mindz Malverde, 3wayslim and Young Wabo — to write over his tracks. The record was mastered by ENIGMA≠SYSTEM, with cover artwork from Tsutomu Sonoda and photography by Itsuki Yoshizawa rounding out a tightly credited, collaborator-driven package. It's a producer-first record in the truest sense: eighteen tracks that lean on road-trip and car imagery to tie a loose, feature-heavy tracklist together.
