Producer Really Hiiim, from Syracuse, NY, and videographer/executive producer Puzzle joined forces for The Crux, an 11-track collection of somber, sample-driven soundscapes built around an unusually deep guest list. The record pulls together some of the sharpest names in the underground "new wave boom bap" scene, from Willie The Kid and Planet Asia to Fly Anakin, Estee Nack, and Al.Divino, each rapper telling their own tale over Hiiim's grimy production. Released in January 2021 and pressed in a limited run, this standard-sleeve edition remains the definitive way to hear the album on wax.
