ASOLO and Shakeef are rappers from North Rhine-Westphalia who built a name together as a duo before ASOLO struck out on further solo projects like "Super Sonics" and "Schmerzplanet." "Karmesin," self-released in August 2023 as a limited, numbered 12" pressing, was billed as ASOLO's first-ever record to vinyl, with lead track "Juni" pulling its mood from The Alchemist and Larry June. The vinyl was mixed by Apex Audio and mastered by AK420, and pressed in a run of 200 numbered copies, with a bonus acapella version of every track on Side B.
