ASOLO is a rapper from North Rhine-Westphalia who has spent the past few years carving out a lane apart from mainstream Deutschrap, drawing on West Coast and Bay Area rap textures for his own sound. "Super Sonics" was recorded together with Hamburg beatmaker HTN at Samy Deluxe's KunstWerkStadt studio, and the pair built the album around the sun-drenched, understated luxury of Larry June filtered through Griselda-style rap technique. UK underground veteran Sonnyjim stops by for a guest verse, and scratches come courtesy of Morris Blaze, rounding out a tight, ten-track summer record mastered by Demian Jacob.
