Released August 13, 1991 on Ruffhouse/Columbia and produced by DJ Muggs, Cypress Hill's self-titled debut introduced the South Gate, Los Angeles trio's now-iconic sound to the world. Singles "How I Could Just Kill a Man" and "Hand on the Pump" became instant classics, and the album eventually went double platinum, laying down a sonic blueprint that countless West Coast and alternative rap acts would go on to copy.
