Digga Mindz has been a fixture of the Austrian hip-hop underground for more than two decades, a familiar name on Honigdachs, the independent Vienna label he's called home for years. Rap oda Kunzt? ("Rap or Art?") is his first proper solo album, entirely self-produced with raw samples, synths and heavy drums, built around the question of where rap really sits between the street and the gallery. Guests from the Vienna scene — Kreiml & Samurai, DRK, Def Ill, Kardinal Kaos and singer Marlene W. — round out a record that's as much a statement of purpose as it is a rap album.
