Released in 2015 on the Dutch label Top Notch, New Wave brought together a new generation of rappers and singers - Ronnie Flex, Lil' Kleine, Bokoesam, Frenna, SFB, Lijpe and more - as one collective project rather than a typical various-artists grab-bag. Singles like "Drank & Drugs" and "Zeg Dat Niet" became genre-defining hits and effectively kickstarted the modern Nederhop/Dutch trap movement, with the album still regarded as one of the most influential Dutch hip-hop releases of the 2010s and later marked with a 10th-anniversary vinyl repress.
