Recognize Ali is a Bronx underground veteran known for gruff, street-hardened storytelling over dusty, sample-heavy boom bap. Back To Mecca II arrived in 2023 as the sequel to his earlier Back To Mecca project, built almost entirely with in-house Greenfield Music producer Anu El, with additional beats and cuts from Giallo Point, Sibbs Roc, Hobgoblin, Tone Spliff and DJ Tray. Ali described it as a record meant to take listeners \"back to like '93,\" leaning into an unapologetically raw, golden-era New York sound.
