Released on Bad Boy Records in September 1994, Ready To Die was The Notorious B.I.G.'s debut studio album and an instant classic, balancing hardcore street narratives with radio-ready hits like "Juicy" and "Big Poppa." Produced largely by Easy Mo Bee alongside Puffy, DJ Premier and Chucky Thompson, the record is widely regarded as one of the greatest hip hop albums ever made and cemented Biggie as one of rap's most gifted storytellers. Its bleak, cinematic arc from struggle to suicide made it as much a concept album as a collection of hits, and it laid the blueprint for Bad Boy's mid-90s dominance.
